Welcome
I am a Buxton based artist and graduate of St Martin’s School of Art, London.
After completing a post graduate teaching certificate in Brighton I taught in secondary schools and adult education in Derbyshire.
From 1993 to 2006 I was Director of Stockport Arts & Health where I initiatied, developed and managed arts projects for and with users of Stockport’s health services and local communities. I regularly worked in partnerships with architects, planners and NHS Estates in the commissioning of artworks for new NHS buildings.
I develop my work across a variety of media, combining a love of textiles with printmaking and photography. I am currently exploring printmaking in more depth, enjoying the discipline and adventure in making linocut prints, drypoint etchings and collographs.
Alongside my internal thought processes, inspiration comes through the beauty of our local landscapes and woodlands and, when visiting the coast, the joy and power of the sea.
